Our Story

Union Station Rocky Hill

Nashville natives Aaron and Jenn Nelson have called East Tennessee home since 1996, quickly falling in love with Knoxville’s charm and community. Married for 25 years, the Nelsons bring decades of experience in the local restaurant scene, having managed beloved establishments like Old College Inn (OCI), The Half Barrel, and Boyd’s Jig and Reel. In 2017, they took over Union Jack’s English Pub, where they poured their combined knowledge and passion into creating a welcoming space known for its great vibe, loyal staff, and ever-growing fan base. When the opportunity arose in 2019 to open a second concept, they launched Union Place with the same commitment to quality, comfort, and community. They have also owned and operated Union Landing, a marina restaurant and bar in Louisville, TN, since 2022. 

Now, their journey continues with the opening of Union Station, a family-friendly restaurant in the heart of Rocky Hill. Drawing on everything they’ve learned and loved throughout their careers, Aaron and Jenn are excited to bring a fresh, inviting dining experience to one of Knoxville’s most vibrant neighborhoods. They remain proud and grateful to be part of the East Tennessee hospitality scene and look forward to welcoming guests—old and new—to Union Station.
